Route: Istanbul – Antiochia (Antakya) – Tarsus – Kızkalesi – Cappadocia – Ihlara Gorge – Ankara – Istanbul
Visit one of the most interesting regions of Turkey linked to the beginnings of Christianity: Antakya, the city of Saint Pierre, Tarsus - the place when Saint Paul was born, Cappadocia - unique in the world area of volcanic rock formations, where early Christians met. Than finally we move back to an even earlier era - and visit Aşıklı Village and Ankara Museum. As a last stop: the biggest and most incredible city in Turkey - Istanbul.
Program:
- Day 1:
Arrival to Istanbul, overnight in Istanbul hotel
- Day 2:
Morning flight to Hatay (Antiochia), visiting St. Pierre Church, Vakifli koy (Armenian village), Monastery in Samandağ, Mozaic Museum, and first mosque in Anatolia – Habibi Necar Camii. Overnight in Hatay hotel.
- Day 3:
Morning transfer from Hatay to Tarsus, visiting St. Paul’s home and antique city nearby. Overnight in Erdemli, with swimming possibilities.
- Day 4:
After the breakfast going by Niğde to Cappadocia, visiting Derinkuyu - one of the biggest underground cities, overnight in Cappadocia area.
- Day 5:
Today we will spend all day for visiting Cappadocia. Göreme Open Air Museum, Love Valley, Pasabağlari valley, Pigeon valley, panoramas, shopping possibilities, overnight in Cappadocia.
- Day 6:
On the morning check out of the hotel, going to Aksaray to Aşıklı Höyük archeological site (dated about 10.000 BC), transfer to Ankara, overnight in Ankara hotel
- Day 7:
After breakfast visiting Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. After we are going to visit Mausoleum of Ataturk - Anitkabir. Evening flight and overnight in Istanbul
- Day 8:
Going back home (optionally full day Istanbul seesighting, shopping and Bosphorus boat cruise).
