Route : Istanbul - Ankara - Hattusas - Yozgat - Amasya - Trabzon - Sumela - Uzungol - Istanbul
Weekly escape to the Black Sea area. This region takes its own rhythm. Different weather, clean mountain air, the ubiquitous green and vast tea fields , these are the views you will remember for a long time. Between the mountains we will visit hidden treasures of ancient civilizations, we will enjoy walking in charming towns, see the capital of the former Hittit Empire, and beautiful Sumela Monastery. And as a last stop: we will feel a great unforgettable metropolis - Istanbul.
Program:
- Day 1:
Arrival to Istanbul, transfer to hotel, overnight In Istanbul hotel
- Day 2:
After breakfast morning flight to Ankara. Visiting Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and Ataturk Mausoleum in Ankara, dinner and overnight in Ankara hotel
- Day 3:
After breakfast transfer from Ankara to Hattuşaş, the capital of the Hittitie Empire (on the UNESCO World Heritage list). Visiting Çorum: Hattuşaş, and Yozgat: Yazilkaya, known for its Phrygian and Hittite archaeological sites. Going to Amasya, seesighting tombs of the king Pontus. Visiting old city with ottoman houses. Dinner and overnight in Amasya.
- Day 4:
After breakfast going to Trabzon. Stop on the Silk Road. Visiting ‘small’ Hagia Sofia Museum, dinner and overnight in Maçka.
- Day 5:
After breakfast visiting Sumela Monastery at an altitude of about 3,900 ft in Altindere National Park. Dinner and overnight in wooden hotels in beautiful village Üzüngöl.
- Day 6:
After breakfast transfer to Trabzon airport. Morning flight to Istanbul, than flight back home.
- Day 7 /optional/:
Visiting Istanbul and Bosphorus boat cruise. Overnight and the next day flight back home.
- Day 8/optional/:
Departure.
